NOT IT!!!
The dilemma with keeping everyone updated is that we are attempting to jump out IN FRONT of what’s happening in the ND Legislature while everything is in the “proposed” state and yet keeping you current. We’ve listened to the new Governor give the state of the state, we are tearing apart all of the proposed bills by both the House and Senate and believe it or not, the dilemma I referred to is that none of this matters….without YOU. We are providing this information in hopes that you, our members, speak up on the items that matter to you, your employees and your families.
Whoa…..WAIT!
When I say “speak up”, DO NOT PANIC! You’ve got many options. It does NOT mean you have to show up at the Capitol in Bismarck in support or to protest. It can look like a number of contact points that are in your wheelhouse. Maybe simply letting others in your sphere know what you are learning. That could mean that you’ve just offered a way for others to get involved because they learned from you. Then again, it might be that you make your business better because you “know things” and that helps not only you, but your employees and thereby your families.
Do you know who your legislators are? If not, don’t worry—we’re here to help! Just give us a call or send us an email, and we’ll guide you on how to stay informed and hold your representatives accountable.
If you already know who they are, ask yourself: how well do you know them? Could you introduce them to others in your community who are passionate and outspoken about the issues that matter most? Or maybe it’s as simple as connecting with local business leaders over coffee, lunch, or even a cocktail to discuss shared goals for improving the business climate in North Dakota.
So, what does “better for business” mean? It means finding real solutions while cutting back on unnecessary programs, excessive regulations, burdensome fees, and government overreach. Together, we can create an environment where businesses thrive and our communities prosper. But again, it takes all of us.
Things will be fast and furious from here on out. We invite you to check back here often. We also invite you to be an ambassador for NDBU by telling other business folks in your community to sign up & stay informed. We are 501(c)(3) charitable entity and could use the support of the business community across the state. We have new brochures that will explain things for you, so just hit us up and we will get them delivered to you so you can share away!
Our first Members Only gathering will take place after the conclusion of the legislative session, but we are already planning ahead, so gather your neighbors and fellow business owners and let’s be the change we want to see in the world!
